An American scientist will reveal in detail the work patterns of brain Prof Stephen Hawking who he described as a factor behind the physicist’s ability to communicate. Professor Philip Low Prof Hawking hopes to write his words with his brain as an alternative to the system during this speech that interprets the muscle movements on the cheek.

Prof Low said that this innovation will be locked to prevent the risk of the syndrome. Intel is working on an alternative way.

Hawking diagnosed with motor neuron disorder in 1963. In the 1980s he was able to use finger movements to move a computer cursor in order to write the sentence.

His condition continued to deteriorate, so he must use a system that detects motion in his right cheek through an infrared sensor that is on his glasses, which maps the changes in light.

Since the nerves continue to exacerbate the ability of his speech with one word per minute speed, then needed another way to handle it.

The fear is, Prof. Hawking finally completely lost the ability to communicate through body movement so effectively locked in her brain.

In 2011, she allowed Prof Low to scan the brain by using a device made iBrain Neurovigil based in Silicon Valley.

Prof Hawking was able to attend a conference in his hometown of Cambridge where Prof Low will discuss his invention. But his spokesman told the BBC that Professor Hawking was always interested in supporting the research of new technologies that help him communicate.

iBrain is a headset that records brain waves via EEG readings (electroencephalograpis), the electrical activity recorded from the scalp of the user.

Prof Low has been designing computer software to analyze data and detect high frequency signals that were previously believed to be lost because of the skull.

“The analogy is like you are out of the concert but the music still sounds from musical instruments,” he told the BBC. “The farther you go then you will stop hearing high-frequency elements such as the violin, but could still hear the trombone and cello.

Becomes, the more you are away from your brain then the loss of high frequency patterns. “What we’ve done is to find and bring back to the algorithm so that we could use.”

Prof Low said that when Prof Hawking thinks to move his limbs, the mind is already generating a signal that can be detected by the algorithm is applied to the EEG data.

According to him, this could be the kind of life – death and produce speech if it is made connecting with similar systems used in motion-detection system on the cheek.

Prof Low further explained that further research should be conducted to see whether this tool could be used to distinguish some types of mind – like the thought of moving the left hand and right foot.

If the problem is solved, then Professor Hawking can use a combination to create some type of virtual movement that could accelerate the pace of the word.

To confirm this, Prof Low tested the plans of this invention to other patients in the United States.
